While there was no attempt to look beyond 1955-56 , the existing deficiency and the additional demand upto 1955-56 were sought to be met by expansion of capacity of the existing plants , and by setting up an integrated iron and steel works in the public sector . जहां , सन् 1955-56 से आगे तक देखने को कोई प्रयास नहीं किया गया था , वहां वर्तमान कमियों तथा सन् 1955-56 तक की अतिरिक़्त मांग को , वर्तमान संयंत्रों की क्षमता को बढ़ाकर तथा सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र में समेकित लौह और इस्पात के नये संयंत्र स्थापित कर पूरा करने के प्रयत्न किये गये .
